Wheelock Cabinet Grand Piano

My Wheelock piano was manufactured in the late 1800s in New York City.

These closeups show the detail on the grill work on the front of the piano.

The Wheelock Logo

Note the fancy scrollwork on the front legs.

This piano was purchased by my great-grandfather for his daughter to learn to play. My grandmother learned to play using this piano in the 1890s. My mother also learned to play on this piano in Itasca, Texas, in the 1930s. I played it when I visited there and played it when I was growing up in the 1950s. It was given to the local museum there but was returned to the family in the 1980s. It was brought to Denver, Colorado and became a part of our family musical life. It was completely rebuilt by Mr. Carl Speck of AAA Piano in Parker, Colorado and completely refinished by Country Club Furniture in Denver in 1985. It is beautiful and has a wonderful tone reminiscent of the 1800s. Five generations of my family have enjoyed this great instrument.
